Six international sport competitions on the way to Eilat

Committee to develop the Negev and Galilee, headed by Vice Premier Negev and Galilee Development Minister - Silvan Shalom has confirmed this week, the plan drawn up in cooperation with the Minister of Culture and Sport Limor Livnat, aimed at positioning the tourist city of Eilat as international sports.Financial assistance will be given initially by the Ministry of Culture and Sport, and the Ministry of Negev and Galilee Development will be assigned in part to host the world championships and European championships in various sports, every year, attracting thousands of athletes from Israel and abroad.

Lancry added Eilat's comparative advantage due to the infrastructure as well as being an island of stability in the Red Sea Gulf Arab state, democratic and modern. Eilat will host this year the European Championships open water swimming in 2012 the European Championships in triathlon and weightlifting world championship. We will help the city of Eilat with construction and upgrading of sports facilities in the development and positioning of the tourist city of Eilat international sports.
